thing 23

I was really surprised by this whole exercise. I enjoyed it a lot but also found some things that I didn't really like. Many of the things I already knew about which was surprising to me! I mentioned in a previous post that I am not very technically savvy but now that I see that I already knew about half of this program, I am starting to have a little bit more confidence. I really liked how the whole program was set up too. I think this was a great idea!

thing 22

After searching through the MOLDI I came across some frustration. I noticed that many of the things I would like to download are not compatible with a Mac and that is what I use. I searched my favorite author, Nicholas Sparks, and only about 4 of his titles are available for a Mac. Some of them were but none of them were compatible with an ipod which is also something I use on a regular basis. I think it is a great idea, I just only use a PC at work...

podcasts

I have been wondering about these podcasts. I keep hearing people talking about them and I have been very confused until now. I think it's a great idea. It's almost like resurrecting the radio in a newer format. I think this can be very helpful for libraries for things like book reviews, promoting events, etc. I came across the Book Review and Author Interview podcast and I thought it was a great idea. This can potentially be very helpful!

YouTube

I use this website all the time! The main thing I use it for is to watch other people play songs on the guitar that I am trying to learn. It makes it so much easier! This is one of my favorite songs and I just learned and perfected it recently. Check it out!

CML Power Tools

I really liked this thing for a number of reasons: 1. It is really easy 2. I learned something new C. A lot of the tools that I already use and love are featured! I have been using Firefox for a long time and definitely like it better than both Internet Explorer and Safari on my Mac. I have also been using gmail for a while and absolutely love it. It is the best e-mail account I have come across - and I've had quite a few! My boyfriend also introduced me to StumbleUpon and Digg which I use quite frequently as well. I "Stumble" when I have free time or when I need something to keep me from falling asleep in class. Definitely some great, useful tools in this toolbox!

thing 18

I was very glad to see that Google Maps won the award for best Maps site. I used to always use MapQuest and had plenty of issues with it. It was so frustrating! Then I found Google Maps and I love it. The compilation of these winning websites is a great idea as well. It's great to be able to just go to one website to find the best tool you need.

Google Docs

First of all, I do love Google and use gmail all the time! This company is amazing. :) Secondly, Google Docs is a great idea! I have many problems with my classes where professors need things to be in Microsoft Office documents but I have a Macbook. Google Docs seems like it could help out by providing sort of a gray area. I love new ideas like this!
